Telanaga Tourist Places:Wanaparthy

This is situated in Mahboobnagar district with an area of about 640 sq.miles. The Rajas of the Samasthans were closely associated with the QtubShahi kings. The early Rajas of Wanaparthi kept on army of 2000 infantry and 2000 cavalry. On 17th March 1843, the title of "Balwant" was conferred on Raja Rameshwar Rao as a mark of honour by Sikander Jah.

Telangana State Festivals:Bonalu and Bathukamma

"The government of Telangana has decided to declare Bonalu and Bathukamma as state festivals as they signify the unique culture of Telangana," said excise minister T Padma Rao Goud. By declaring them state festivals, the government will fund the official celebrations in the temple and make other necessary arrangements.

Jaya Jaya Hey Telangana Song written by Ande Sri, is going to be official song of Telangana state from appointed day(June 2nd) as the Telangana state’s 1st CM KCR and others had been opposing Maa Talliki song. Hence KCR is making sure the celebrations of the new Telangana State will begin with song ‘jaya jaya hey Telangana’ at Secunderabad Parade Ground on June 2nd 2014.CM designate KCR has picked up the song ‘Jaya Jaya He Telangana’ written by noted lyricist Dr.Ande Sri as the official State song of Telangana. He however made sure few changes were to the original song lyrics to suit the present situation. Apparently, ‘Jaya jaya he telangana’ mentions the count of telangana state districts as 10. As TRS Government wishes to make the 10 districts in he new state into 24 districts.

Telangana state is one of the most frequented tourist places in South India. How the Telangana State Got its Name:

One of the oldest dynasties in India the Sathavahanas were the dominant power here. The rule was followed by the reign of prominent royal dynasties like the Vakataka, Chalukyas, Rashtrakutas but the golden age of the Telangana region came under the region of the Kakatiya dynasty which is attributed for most of the ancient architecture in this State. In the 14th century the city of Hyderabad came under the Delhi sultanate and the Nizams of Hyderabad which lead to it becoming a princely State.
The name Telangana is belived to have been derived from Telugu, the language that’s widely spoken in the State. The rest of the former Hyderabad State consisted of a Marathi-speaking community, thus giving Telangana State its distinction.

Since Telangana has a population that follows various Indian traditions and also from other countries like the Persian influence, the state enjoys a varied culture and thus, it is rich on this front. Some of the major festivals of North India are celebrated here, although Telangana State is a Southern State of India. Poets and artists such as pothana also make the state famous and unique.
Some of the regional festivals of Telangana State includes Bonalu, Bathukamma and Sammakka Saralamma Jatara. The other popular celebrations include Dussehra, Ganesh Chaturthi and Ugadi.

While Telugu cuisine is a South Indian cuisine that’s known for being spicy, the Hyderabadi cuisine is a blend of Telugu and other dishes such as Arab, Tukish and Mughlai. Hyderabadi Dum Biryani is one of the delicacies the state is famous for.
