Telangana State Official Bird Animal Flower Tree Symbols:Telangana Updates

The Government of Telangana has finalized the State’s official Flower,Tree,Bird and Animal Symbols.Telangana State symbols showcase its culture,traditions,history and moral values.In united Andra Pradesh the State symbols were selected through Andra angle. Since Telangana State has been formed, the state symbols should go with Telangana culture.

Telangana State Bird Animal Flower and Tree Symbols:

Telanganites lucky bird Palapitta(Indain Roller) is now the Official Telangana State Bird and Jinka(Deer) is a Telangana State Animal.Yellow Tangedu Puvvu(Cassia Auriculata) which adorns Bathukamma is the Telangana State Flower while Jammi Chettu(Prosopis Cineraria) worshipped by devout telugus every Dasara is the Telangana State Tree.

Telangana State Bird: Palapitta(Indian Roller)

Highlighting the importance of the Palapitta in the State’s culture, the people here believed that sighting the bird meant good omen on Dasara festival.It was selected as the Telangana State bird since it had mythological references, wherein it was stated that Sri Rama had sighted the bird before attacking Lanka and succeeded. This would indicate that Telangana would also treated the path of success. This bird is a part of Telangana culture. On the day of Dasara watching Palapitta(Indian Roller) is very much good and gets victory,it is a belief of Hindus.

Telangana State Tree:Jammi Chettu(Prosopis Cineraria)

On the Jammi tree, it was also part of the peoples culture and it is Telangana State Tree, according to mythology, the Pandavas had safely kept their arms on the tree while in exile(Agnathavasam) and on completion of the term,they had offered prayers to the tree,taken off their arms and defeated the Kauravas in the Mahabharata war. This is the symbol of victory. It is stated that performed puja to their weapons and chariots under this tree.On the day of Dasara priest offers prayers for Jammi and give it to our friends neighbours and family members.

Telangana State Flower: Tangedu Puvvu(Cassia Auriculata)

Justifying the selection of peacock’s pride as the State flower, the flower had a pride of place in the Bathukamma festival, which was synonymous with the culture of Telangana State. It would grow naturally in the wild and was thought to protect the marital life of women.

Telangana State Animal: Jinka(Deer)

Deer(Jinka) has carved a niche in Indian history. It has a key role in Ramayana.Deers are spread over entire Telangana.Among the wild animals in forest,Deer is the most delicate and innocent one. Deer resembles the heart of Telangana peoples.
